Location: Muskegon/Norton Shores or Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid – Onsite Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a customer-focused Customer Project Coordinator to support new electric service requests for residential and commercial customers throughout the greater Grand Rapids service territory, spanning from Grand Haven to Ludington. This hybrid role combines customer interaction, project coordination, and occasional field work to ensure new service installations and service upgrades are completed efficiently.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with customers as well as cross-functional teams to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers requesting new electrical service, service upgrades, or additional power for residential and commercial properties.
- Meet with customers at construction sites and conduct on-site visits as needed (approximately 30% travel, primarily within the Muskegon area).
- Communicate with customers through phone calls, email, and in-person meetings to gather project requirements and provide updates.
- Collect project scope information, including utility requirements, equipment needs, and site details through customer conversations, emails, and site visits, including taking photographs when necessary.
- Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders—including design teams, operations, permitting agencies, real estate professionals, and other business partners to facilitate timely project completion.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 50–60 active projects simultaneously while ensuring customer expectations and project milestones are met.
- Begin by supporting straightforward residential service requests, with opportunities to grow into more complex residential and commercial projects.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication throughout each project's lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong customer service experience with a customer-first mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP.
- Utility, construction, engineering, or project coordination experience is a plus.
- CAD knowledge is beneficial but not required.
- Hybrid schedule with onsite work required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
- Approximately 30% field work, including customer site visits and construction site meetings, primarily within the Muskegon service area.
- Collaborative team environment with frequent interaction across multiple internal departments and external partners.
