We’re looking for a Construction Project Engineer to join our team in a hands‑on, high‑impact role supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their construction career who wants real exposure, real responsibility, and a team that will invest in their growth.
You’ll have the support of experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, gaining firsthand experience in how projects actually get built—while contributing meaningfully from day one.
Key Responsibilities- Support project teams across all phases of construction
- Assist with permitting, bid coordination, subcontract management, and cost tracking
- Attend meetings, take notes, and maintain accurate project documentation (RFIs, submittals, schedules, reports)
- Coordinate with field teams and participate in site walks to monitor progress and identify issues
- Assist with budgeting, change orders, invoicing, and project financial tracking
- Support safety planning and help maintain a strong safety‑first culture
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and design partners
- Contribute wherever needed—this role requires a team‑first, hands‑on approach
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Northern Michigan (Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Cadillac, etc.)
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Comfortable working both in the field and in an office setting
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Internship or field experience, familiarity with Procore, OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain).
- Typically 40 hours/week with occasional overtime
- Project‑based work with regular travel throughout Northern Michigan
- Occasional early mornings, evenings, or rare weekends depending on project needs
