Travel opportunity in the Midwest (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio)
Objective:
We are actively seeking an experienced Construction Layout Surveyor to join our highly successful heavy commercial and large industrial construction company. Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC) offers both general contracting and self‑perform services across a wide array of industrial markets. The ideal hire will show high proficiency in reading blueprints and experience operating a Total Station and/or other equipment to layout concrete footings, foundations, and walls for project sites.
Certifications and/or a degree in land surveying are a plus.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Complete layouts in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
- Perform construction layouts, existing topographic surveys, and as‑built data.
- Set up and maintain permanent survey control for use in all construction projects.
- Validate accurate dimensions by reviewing the architectural and structural drawings prior to execution.
- Identify any discrepancies in drawings prior to execution.
- 3+ years of experience in field engineering, surveying, and layout for a large‑scale Self‑Perform GC or Concrete Contractor with a variety of project types (emphasis on heavy industrial preferred).
- Experience with GPS calibrations, machine control & Total Stations, survey control, and construction layout preferred.
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices required with experience on projects over $1 million preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Be highly articulate, proactive, and detail‑oriented.
- Ability to handle information with integrity and confidentiality.
- This position requires travel to various project sites across the Midwest (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio). Travel expenses are reimbursed by CCC and/or covered by per diem allowances which may vary by project scope and location.
