General Dental Hygienist

Pay

• $42 - $52 per hour

Schedule is Monday through Thursday. Occasional Fridays requested towards the end/ beginning of year to handle the busy season.

• License & Certification:
  Licensed dental hygienist, X-ray / Radiography Certification

• Review medical and dental history at every appointment.
• Perform comprehensive periodontal and oral health assessments.
• Screen for oral diseases, including oral cancer, caries, and periodontal disease.
• Recognize conditions that require referral to a dentist or other healthcare provider.

• Formulate a dental hygiene diagnosis where permitted by regulation.
• Develop an individualized care plan based on assessment findings.
• Obtain informed consent before treatment.
• Provide appropriate preventive and therapeutic services, such as:
  • Scaling and root debridement as indicated.
  • Polishing when appropriate.
  • Fluoride treatments.
  • Sealants (where within scope).
  • Oral hygiene instruction tailored to the patient.
  • Use proper infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Follow current evidence-based clinical guidelines.

• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, tobacco cessation, and disease prevention.
• Encourage adherence to recommended recall intervals and home care.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical records, including:
  • Assessment findings.
  • Treatment provided.
  • Medical history updates.
  • Informed consent.
  • Patient education.
  • Recommendations, referrals, and follow-up plans.
