Exterior Creative Designer (Automotive)

Dearborn, MI (Hybrid: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)

We're looking for a highly creative and strategic Exterior Designer to join our cutting-edge design studio in Dearborn. In this role, you'll be part of the Thrill Studio, contributing to both advanced concept development and production exterior programs for future vehicles.

This is an opportunity to shape the next generation of automotive design by combining bold creativity with technical excellence.

What You'll Do

+ Develop innovative exterior design concepts from early ideation through production

+ Create compelling sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models to communicate design vision

+ Partner closely with cross-functional teams including engineering and modeling

+ Help define and evolve future-focused brand design language

+ Contribute to both advanced (concept) and production-ready exterior designs

+ Coordinate with clay modeling and digital sculpting teams to bring designs to life

+ Solve design challenges related to mobility, connectivity, and evolving consumer needs

What You Bring

+ Strong ability to think creatively, strategically, and analytically

+ Proven experience in automotive exterior design (concept +/or production)

+ Proficiency in Alias or similar digital sculpting tools

+ Experience collaborating with clay modeling teams (no hands-on sculpting required)

+ Ability to deliver forward-thinking, brand-aligned design solutions

+ Strong visual storytelling and presentation skills

Experience Level

This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
