Color & Materials/Product Designer (Short term- 12 weeks)

Must live locally!

• Studio Design Position that creates, coordinates and recommends annual interior and exterior color and trim programs.
• Based on our anticipated project pipeline, the activities for flexible support may involve, but are not limited to, the following types of advanced design tasks:
• Concept Development & Proposal Creation:
• Based on gathered insights and strategic objectives, developing compelling product proposals. This requires synthesizing quantitative customer data with qualitative insights to define the core value proposition and shape initial design directions.
• Detailed Design & Solutioning:
• Translating approved concepts and proposals into more detailed design solutions across digital (UX/UI) and physical () touchpoints, ensuring alignment with user needs and technical feasibility.
• Prototyping:
  
  Creating interactive, low-to-medium fidelity prototypes (both digital and physical) to effectively communicate design intent, explore interactions, and facilitate early validation.
• Evaluation & Refinement:
• Participating in or leading design evaluation activities, potentially including co-creation sessions or further design research, to gather feedback on proposed solutions. Iterating on designs based on feedback and insights.
• Documentation:
  
  Contributing to the refinement of design proposals and potentially assisting in writing baseline Experience Requirements to clearly articulate the desired user outcomes and functional needs.

• Minimum 4 years color and materials experience.
• Relevant or creative work experience includes trend forecasting, fashion, and/or interior design.

• Flexibility and Responsiveness:
• Ability to ramp up resources relatively quickly when needed and adapt to changing priorities.
• High-Quality Design Output:
• A strong portfolio and track record of delivering excellent design work.
• Seamless
  
  Collaboration:
• Experience working effectively with internal client teams, integrating into existing workflows, and strong communication skills.
• Reliability:
  
  Consistently meeting deadlines and delivering on commitments.
• Relevant Expertise:
• Experience in the specific design disciplines relevant to our potential needs (listed above) and proficiency with our core design tools Figma, Blender, Rhino, Alias, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, Proto Pie, and VRED.
• Understanding of Our Business:
• While not strictly required initially, an ability to quickly understand our industry, target audience, and business goals is a significant plus.
• Onsite:
  You’ll be working in the new World Headquarters in Dearborn, MI, expecting to be onsite / in-person at least four days per week.
