Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries.

Working with our clients across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, we transform together delivering outcomes that improve people’s lives. Working in partnership makes it possible to deliver the world’s most impactful projects and programmes as we turn challenge into opportunity and complexity into success.

Our capabilities include programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, controls and performance, procurement and supply chain, net zero and digital solutions.

We are majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, with our partners holding a significant minority interest. Turner & Townsend and CBRE work together to provide clients with the premier programme, project and cost management offering in markets around the world.

This role is responsible for developing test fits, space plans, and early design concepts for our client's workplace projects. Working under the guidance of senior project architects, this person moves fluidly between focused, individual test-fit work and collaborative meetings with customers, contractors, and project management teams.

You will provide architectural design services for a variety of small to medium-sized commercial workplace projects. You will work closely with our client's internal design team, business stakeholders, contractors, project management teams, and (where applicable) external Architects of Record — moving fluidly between focused design work and multi-party project meetings.

This role is on‑site at our client's campus in Dearborn, MI.

What You'll Do
  • Identify the client's project goals, objectives, and quality expectations through data and research.
  • Develop test fits and space plans to evaluate program fit against Ford Land workplace standards.
  • Provide initial design direction and concept‑level design intent for projects; partner with and transition scopes to an external Architect of Record (AOR) as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between the client and project team; build and support lasting relationships.
  • Ensure HSSE compliance in all designs and creations within the project.
  • Assist with early design phases, including programming and schematic/concept design.
  • Participate in project meetings with customers, contractors, and project management teams, representing Ford Land's design goals and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with consultants and external AORs on projects requiring full documentation, under the direction of senior project architects.
  • Apply working knowledge of standard design principles and techniques to typical assignments; elevate complex issues to senior team members.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; contribute to consensus‑building.
  • Work within established guidelines and policies, exercising sound judgment on day‑to‑day design decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. NCARB certification or Architectural license required.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.
