Position Type:
Special Education/ Special Education Teacher

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited university with core content in English Language Arts, Mathematics, or Science. Experience in special education is preferred. Special Education Certification is required.

The qualified candidate will provide instruction and support for students eligible for special education services. The individual will provide direct instruction for middle school students, as well as, work collaboratively with general education teachers. The individual will assess each student's progress and communicate with parents continuously and consistently. This individual will also develop IEP goals, chair IEPT meetings, and advocate for students on caseload.

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that support student growth and success across your assigned caseload of students.
  • Deliver Specially Designed Instruction tailored to each student's unique goals, strengths, and learning needs.
  • Apply knowledge of middle school general education curriculum to create meaningful and creative learning experiences.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and resources to effectively deliver curriculum and specialized instruction.
  • Include creativity and innovation into teaching to foster problem-solving, critical thinking, and student engagement.
  • Accommodate general education curriculum, instructional strategies, and technology to meet diverse learning needs and ensure student access to content.
  • Support students in district-required assessments and evaluations, helping them demonstrate their progress and abilities.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team— including social workers, counselors, and speech-language pathologists— to provide comprehensive student support.
  • Maintain accurate, current student records and prepare timely reports in accordance with legal requirements, district policies, and administrative guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Building Principal.
