School Counselor

• Must have a Master’s Degree in Education with a valid Michigan School Counselor License or a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor (NT) Endorsement
• Experience with student information systems preferred
• Must be able to work non-traditional schedule as needed
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, staff, and the community

• Implement comprehensive school counseling program to support students in the areas of academics, college/career, and meeting EDP requirements
• Provide classroom instruction that is aligned with the comprehensive school counseling program
• Building coordinator for 504 plans and testing (M-Step, PSAT)
• Counsel students during times of stress, anxiety, and transition; provide referrals to outside resources as appropriate
• Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to create equitable plans to increase student opportunity and success
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
