JOB SUMMARY

Lake Ville Community Schools is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist.

The Lake Ville Board of Education will offer the successful candidate an annual salary range of $43,497 – $84,878 commensurate with their education, skill level, and prior experience. The successful candidate will also receive a complete and competitive fringe benefit package, including MESSA.

POSITION DETAILS

The Behavior Intervention Specialist will have knowledge of Multi-Tiered Intervention Supports (MTSS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and the skills necessary to assist individuals, groups, and systems through the application of positive behavior supports. The Behavior Intervention Specialist may assist with Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plans that address students’ behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more socially and academically successful.

The Behavior Intervention Specialist will support the implementation of classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies.

THE DISTRICT

Lake Ville Community Schools serves approximately 1025 students in PreK-12th grade. The district has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. Lake Ville Community Schools also offers early childhood education serving 3 and 4-year-olds. All staff receive free early childhood education for 3 and 4-year-olds as well as free after-school programming. The district has implemented “The Leader in Me” curriculum based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

The district is a 1:1 technology K-12 with all students having Chromebooks. The school culture and climate match the relaxed rural community feel. The district has an active, engaged, and supportive school board that is eager to provide the right resources to ensure the success of every child.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Criminal Justice, Sociology, etc.).
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administration, students, and parents.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check as defined by the State of Michigan;
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
