School Occupational Therapist - Dearborn, Michigan

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for the state of Michigan
• Previous experience working in a school environment strongly preferred
• Understanding of IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes and documentation
• Ability to develop and implement customized OT interventions within an elementary school context
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify student needs and develop individual treatment plans
• Deliver direct therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom adaptations
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student progress and participation
• Document sessions, write progress reports, and maintain accurate student records as required by school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multi-disciplinary planning
• Provide guidance to staff on strategies for integrating OT goals into daily activities
