Job SummaryThe GSRP Associate Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for school aged children in a safe nurturing environment. This role uses strong leadership skills, creativity, and excitement for working with children. Some responsibilities include preparing activity schedules, organizing recreational and enrichment activities, and ensuring the safety of all children.
Qualifications Required- Associate’s degree (AA) in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or a valid classroom CDA credential (This needs to be birth to five or preschool specialization); or an existing 120 Hour approval from the Michigan Department of Education.
- Positive attitude and rapport with students and staff
- Must be dependable, neat, and organized
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative with activities
- Experience working with at-risk students and families
- Current 1staid certification
- Current CPR certification
- Perform duties assigned by the lead teacher
- Responsible for working with 4 year old children
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information
- Interact with children and families in a positive, caring, and concerned manner
- Responsible for helping input child assessment
- Must follow all childcare license rules and regulations
- Willingness and physically capable of walking distances and participating in all field trips, playground, and classroom activities
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies
- Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations
8:15am-4:15pm (Monday-Thursday) 8:15 am-2:15pm (Friday)
Wages$15.51 per hour
