Job SummaryThe Noon Lunch Aide and Crossing Guard helps supervise students during lunchtime breaks, playtime and crossing the designated intersections. Some of the main responsibilities include helping students follow the rules, keeping the lunchroom clean, supervising students on the playground, assisting with lunchroom tasks, and greeting children and adults as they cross. This position requires good communication skills and the ability to manage groups of students in an active and often noisy environment.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work cooperatively with the noon lunch aide team, teachers and students
- Positive attitude and rapport with the noon lunch aide team, teachers and students
- Excellent communication skills
- Responsible for supervising students during lunchtime
- Wiping tables
- Playground supervision
- Responsible for assisting school children and pedestrians to safely cross designated intersection
- Ability to comprehend and direct traffic movement using crossing guard skills and traffic control techniques to communicate with children and adults
- Must be able to withstand outside working conditions
- Observe and report any incidents that present a potential safety concern to school official
- Greet children and adults as they are crossing
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations
- Repetitive hand motion is used to direct traffic
- Moderate noise level
- Monday-Friday, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
- M, T, Th, F: 8:15 – 8:45 am and 3:45 – 4:10 pm
- W: 9:15 – 9:45 am and 3:45 – 4:10 pm
$15.00 per hour
