Public Leadership & Administration Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary

Teach courses in Public Leadership and Administration at Jackson College’s Correctional Education Program.

Women’s Huron Valley in Ypsilanti, MI;
St. Louis Correctional Facility in St. Louis, MI;
Milan Federal Prison in Milan, MI; and Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Adrian, MI. Classes are conducted in person.

Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments may vary by semester and are based on enrollment; there may be semesters with no assignments available.

• Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, handouts). Materials may be delivered in person and/or online.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).
• Assist students in accessing college resources.

• Master’s degree or higher in Public Leadership & Administration or a subfield.
• Or Master’s degree or higher in another field with at least 18 graduate credits in Public Leadership & Administration or a subfield.

• Resume and unofficial transcript of the required degree must be attached to the application. Official transcripts will be required for final candidates.
• Final candidates will undergo a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
