Job Description
The McKinney Vento Advisor is responsible for increasing student and Learning Coach engagement within the school to drive improved academic growth. The role is committed to providing consistent support focusing on McKinney Vento students.
Residency Requirements:
Must reside in Michigan.
Start Date:
school year 2026/2027.
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr plus eligibility for a performance bonus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Oversee a caseload of students assigned by the school to increase engagement (e.g., monitoring student log in, class attendance) through intervention (e.g., Learning Coach training, catch up sessions, time management).
- Provide consistent proactive support to students using data resources.
- Provide support to students and Learning Coaches through the Onboarding (Strong Start) experience.
- Serve as primary point of contact between students and Learning Coaches, teachers, and/or school administration.
- Perform continuous education and training to increase efficacy with the dynamic needs of students and Learning Coaches.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of college AND
- Two (2) years of experience in education OR
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Ability to pass required background check.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Organizational skills, multi‑tasking abilities.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web proficiency.
- Familiarity with the online learning experience.
- Ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web‑based tools).
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
- Four (4) years of college education.
- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology.

WorkEnvironment
This is a home‑based position that may require one or more days a week in the office as determined by the supervisor. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
