Middle School Science Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join the Genesee School District. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in the exploration of scientific concepts, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.

• Develop and implement engaging science curriculum aligned with state standards and district guidelines.
• Create lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can succeed.
• Conduct hands‑on experiments and demonstrations to enhance student understanding of scientific principles.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, providing timely feedback and support.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and curiosity.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Supervise students during non‑classroom activities, including lunch and recess, to ensure their safety and well‑being.
• Contribute to school initiatives and community events that promote science education and student engagement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for middle school science in the state of Michigan.
• Strong understanding of middle school science curriculum and pedagogy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Experience in a classroom setting, preferably at the middle school level.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
