Medical Assistant Adjunct Instructor

Responsibilities

Adjunct instructor positions are part‑time; teaching assignments vary per semester based on enrollment, and may be unavailable in some semesters.

• Teach medical assisting courses in person and/or online.
• Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, handouts).
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).
• Assist students in connecting to college resources.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Assisting.
• Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting and Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) credential.
• Associate degree with health‑related experience and a health‑related credential.
• Associate degree and current related credential such as CPC, CAM (AAMA), or another medical billing credential.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
• Ability to provide official transcripts for all degrees held.
• Availability to work part‑time; assignments and scheduling will vary by semester.
• Proficiency in facilitating online instruction, if applicable.
• Compliance with criminal background check requirements.
