Position: Per Diem Para educator in Dearborn, MI -

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed to provide valuable one-on-one and small-group support for students in local schools. These per diem roles offer flexible scheduling and the opportunity to positively impact students’ academic, behavioral, and social experiences in the classroom environment. What You’ll Do:
  • Support students academically and behaviorally within classroom and small-group settings
  • Assist with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions as guided by teaching staff
  • Provide direct 1:1 support for students needing extra assistance, including those with IEPs or behavioral plans
  • Implement and follow specific behavior support strategies
  • Help with student supervision, safety, mobility, and personal care routines
  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all students
Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Willingness to obtain a recent TB test in accordance with district policy
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and help with lifting as necessary
  • Up-to-date school clearances or ability to secure them before starting
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous work in schools, behavioral health, special education, or childcare settings
  • Background supporting individuals with special needs, autism, or challenging behaviors
  • Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus, but not required
  • Strong reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
