Position: Per Diem Para Professional in Dearborn, MI -

Instructional Aide Substitutes Needed – Flexible School-Based Support Opportunities

As an Instructional Aide substitute, you'll play a vital role in supporting learners one‑on‑one, working closely with teachers and staff to enhance the classroom experience. This per diem, as‑needed position is perfect for professionals seeking variety and flexibility in their work schedule, while making a meaningful contribution to students’ academic, behavioral, and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to students in classroom settings, both one‑on‑one and in small groups
  • Assist with classroom activities, daily routines, and transitions
  • Implement behavior support plans, and follow IEPs as directed
  • Support students' mobility and personal care needs with empathy and respect
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students
  • Monitor and support safe participation in class activities
Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years old
  • Ability to pass TB testing and required background clearances (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working in educational, behavioral health, special education, or child care settings
  • Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices a plus (not required)
  • Reliability, patience, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
