SummaryThe Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for overseeing the financial aid operations for multiple campus locations. This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid Operations and ensures the highest standards for all aspects of the financial aid process, including customer service, relationships with other departments, timely and effective packaging for potential and new enrollments, maintenance of low past‑due levels through quality processing and reduced rejects, quarterly audits, oversight of student accounts receivables, regular reporting, and staff training assistance.

- Maintain attention to detail and well‑developed writing, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactively innovate and orient solutions.
- Operate as a highly self‑directed individual with strong problem‑solving expertise.
- Organize and manage time effectively, prioritizing multiple demands and rearranging priorities to meet changing workload needs and deadlines.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite, emphasizing Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Oversee and perform federal student financial aid calculations with precision and accuracy in compliance with federal regulations.
- Recommend process updates to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain significant understanding of federal regulations related to the verification and processing of federal aid programs.
- Participate in audits and investigate questions in annual federal, state, and institutional audits.
- Possess general knowledge of the higher education industry (preferred).
- Travel among campuses consistently.
- Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with a strong work ethic, capable of coordinating multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Independent worker who can coordinate tasks autonomously.
- Effective internal communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic office equipment, computers, and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to perform well under pressure.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate resourcefulness and problem‑solving skills.
- College degree in an appropriate field (highly preferred).
- Minimum one year of financial aid experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to drive positive results and improve quality.
- In‑depth knowledge of financial aid regulations and related laws; ability to make independent judgments and decisions.
- Student‑focused individual with a passion for education.
- Willingness and ability to work hours beyond a typical work week when necessary.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for professional access to Federal Student Aid systems.

Work / Physical DemandsExtensive use of office equipment (personal computer, multi‑line phone system, copier, printer, facsimile, postage meter). Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Requires hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a phone and computer keyboard and other office equipment. Evening or weekend hours may be required to meet deadlines and meet with prospective students. The position is an office role with light to moderate noise levels, involving extended periods of sitting and computer work.
