Geology Adjunct Instructor

Overview

Teach courses in Geology as part of the Corrections Education Program (CEP) in St. Louis. Courses are face‑to‑face within correctional institutions and require additional background screening to obtain clearance from the State of Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN).

• Teach Geology courses (part‑time adjunct instructor positions) with assignments varying by semester and enrollment.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, handouts) in person and/or online.
• Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.) and assist students in connecting to college resources.

• Master’s degree or higher in Geology, or Master’s degree or higher in another field with at least 18 graduate credits in Geology.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
• Background screening clearance from the State of Michigan LEIN for CEP teaching.

• Adjunct instructors are not employed directly by Jackson College except for those receiving pensions from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System; all others are employed by EDUStaff, LLC.
