Responsibilities
Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or on‑line.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.).
- Assist students in connecting to college resources.
Courses this position may teach include:
- Introduction to Theatre
- Technical Design
- Sound Design
- Lighting Design
- Costume Design
- Special Topics
- Stage Makeup
- Acting Foundations
- Directing
- Theatre Practicum/Working on a Production
- Directing Theatrical Productions on the College's Central Campus
- Master degree or higher in Theatre OR a Master degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in Theatre.
* Adjunct positions at JC are part‑time teaching positions.
