Elementary Teaching Position

Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking a qualified, loving, nurturing, spiritually focused, curriculum targeted Elementary Teacher. Applicants should be able to provide a Catholic Based Instruction and manage the classroom environment.

Minimum

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
• K-5 Certification

Job Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Create lesson plans to teach students subjects and complete Report Cards
• Teach students how to interact with others, share work together, problem solve
• Observe students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Report to the Principal
• Current teaching license and or degree in elementary education
• Must meet requirements established by the Archdiocese of Detroit
• Must have completed or willing to complete Protecting God's Children Training
• Ability to work in collaborative atmosphere with teachers, parents and students
• Ability to manage and maintain a safe learning environment for students
• Know the needs of School Aged Children
• Ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students
• Willingness to support the students to ensure that students' social, emotional, nutritional and health needs are addressed
• Capacity to hold ongoing instructional-specific conversations designed to focus conversations and efforts on improving student learning
• Capacity to align curriculum, instruction, and assessments while responding to the individual needs of students
• Development of organized routines, communicate clear expectations, and grow a positive school culture
• Build a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability
• Ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, students support services, or administrators for instructional support in the never ending quest to deliver the vision of high quality subject-specific instruction to increase achievement
