- Promote school readiness by enhancing children's social, cognitive, and overall development through educational, health, nutritional, and social services.
- Comply with Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, 5-Year Grant, MiLeap-Child Care Licensing Bureau, USDA-CACFP Requirements, Great Start Readiness Implementation Manual, NMCAA Personnel Policies, and other relevant guidelines.
- Follow agency processes, policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Adhere to the Child Protection Law, Staff and Volunteer Mandated Reporting Policy, NMCAA's Early Childhood Guidance Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment using Creative Curriculum, School Readiness Goals, and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), and conduct child developmental screenings and GOLD assessments.
- Utilize data from GOLD assessments, team input, and parent feedback for lesson planning and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and address behavioral challenges using Conscious Discipline and a Classroom Support Plan.
- Be present during core hours with children and adapt to flexible schedules to meet family and team needs.
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and organized environment. Implement emergency procedures. Utilize Active Supervision practices. Follow policies on health care needs, food allergies, medication administration, and authorized adult releases.
- Report incidents and accidents as require
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth-program setting
- Ability to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Openness to ongoing training and professional development
- Support is available to pursue the CDA or additional education, if needed
