Role OverviewThis is a full‑time, on‑site role as a Special Education Paraprofessional serving a school located in Dearborn, MI.
ResponsibilitiesThe Paraprofessional will provide classroom and instructional support to students, assist teachers with daily educational activities, and help implement individualized student support plans. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting academic instruction
- Assisting with classroom routines
- Providing behavioral support
- Monitoring student progress
- Collaborating with teachers and school staff
- Full‑time position with a 37.5‑hour work week
- School‑year assignment from August 2026 through May 2027
- Supporting students in Kindergarten through 5th grade
- Providing classroom support, assisting with instructional activities, implementing student support plans, and collaborating with teachers and related service providers
- Guaranteed paid hours, including time for documentation, planning, and other administrative responsibilities
- Fully on‑site, in‑person school‑based role
- Well‑balanced, manageable student caseloads
- Ongoing support from both the partnering school district and the Thera Peds Partners team
- Competitive hourly pay of $30‑$40+ (approximately $1,125‑$1,500+ per week)
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s degree or higher preferred - Ability to meet Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Wayne RESA, and Dearborn Public Schools employment requirements for Paraprofessionals, as applicable
- Must be currently eligible to work as a paraprofessional in Michigan
- Must have passed the Para Pro Assessment, Work Keys, or another paraprofessional qualification exam
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities
- Comfortable using technology in an educational setting
- Ability to follow teacher direction while working independently when appropriate
- Fingerprint background clearance required
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, service providers, and families while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movements such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
