Assistant Professor of Public Health with Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI)
Job Description: Teach a full load of courses in the Master of Public Health program in the areas of health promotion and health education, including the following courses:
Foundation and Techniques of Health Promotion;
Health Disparity;
Principles of Curriculum & Instruction in Health Education;
Community Needs Assessment;
Quantitative & Qualitative Research Methods. Develop course curricula. Prepare course syllabi. Align courses with CEPH standards and/or other accrediting bodies as needed. Provide mentorship to capstone and integrated learning experiences (ILE) students. Advise Public Health Programs’ students. Apply for grants in the areas of research and other public health initiatives. Support service initiatives at the school and university levels. Conduct research leading to publications.
Job Requirements: Requires Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and Master of Public Health (MPH)
OR a Ph.D. in Public Health or a closely related field. Requires some academic knowledge OR experience in each of the following skills:
Analyze public health data using SPSS, NVivo, OR equivalent qualitative analysis software;
Enable disease surveillance and identify health disparities and at-risk populations through GIS mapping;
Develop public health curricula focused on chronic disease prevention;
Conduct or evaluate community health needs assessments as part of academic instruction or research; and Teach evidence-based approaches to nutrition and lifestyle factors in disease prevention.
