Qualifications:
- Three or more years of successful teaching of ELA with a minimum of 2 years as a classroom teacher- middle school level preferred but not required.
- Master's (Advanced Degree) in ELA and/or other educational areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices of ELA and assessment in both classroom instruction and with co-taught groups of at-risk students.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with adult learners.
- Demonstrated experience with professional development facilitation.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated work with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated effective partnerships with all teachers.
- Demonstrated how to invite challenging conversations.
- Demonstrated patience working with students.
- Demonstrated building and maintaining trust and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in incorporating digital tools in teaching.
- Demonstrated continuous self-reflection.
- Actively seeks to expand own knowledge base in coaching, co-teaching, and intervention strategies.
- Demonstrate willingness to be observed co-teaching on a regular basis.
Goal:
To provide instructional coaching for classroom teachers by implementing research-based practices for the purpose of improving student achievement for all students as measured by state and local assessments.
