Special Education Teacher in Dearborn, MI

We're seeking a contract Special Education Teacher to work with elementary students, ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade, in a resource setting. This full-time position offers the chance to support young learners in a dynamic school environment and contribute to their academic and personal growth throughout the remainder of the academic year, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June.

• Current Michigan Special Education Teaching certification (MI SPED).
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in resource or inclusive settings.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with general education staff, parents, and support teams.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with varying needs in a resource classroom.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Assess student progress and maintain detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support personnel for student success.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's academic and social development.
• Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.
