Overview
Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support their automotive interiors business. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do- Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery.
- Lead cross-functional decisions with Our Client & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues.
- Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers.
- Principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations.
- Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites.
- Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).
- Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, advanced quality, process planning, implementation or launch of Interior Commodity manufacturing systems (Seats, IP’s, consoles, headliners, door panels, restraints, seat structures).
- 8+ years of experience in one or more but not limited to the following Interior manufacturing processes:
Stamping, Welding, Plastic Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Blow Molding, Automated/Manual Assembly Process, Controls Automation programing, Paint, Chroming. - Proven experience in PPAP, APQP, and quality systems.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to supplier sites up to 70%.
