$44-$46/hour
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, validate, release, and implement handles, locks, and mechanisms (HLM) for vehicle closures (hoods/frunks, doors, tailgates, liftgates, decklids).
- Lead suppliers to meet program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
- Apply GPDS (Global Product Development System) and create plans for on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust systems at the vehicle level.
- Perform technical analyses including GD&T layouts, CAE simulations, and dynamic calculations.
- Review and sign off CAD in Teamcenter; release/update parts in FEDEBOM and WERS.
- Develop DFMEAs, SCCAF, Boundary Diagrams, P‑Diagrams, and DVP&R documents.
- Support sourcing processes, validation, durability, and functional tests per SDS & ES requirements.
- Apply Six Sigma principles and resolve issues using root cause analysis (8D, 5
Why). - Travel to supplier manufacturing and testing sites as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years in design, development, or launch of automotive mechanisms (internships/coursework included).
- CAD capability (CATIA, Teamcenter) and familiarity with CAE tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Experience with latching mechanisms and closure systems.
- Mechatronics/software literacy.
- DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF experience.
- Knowledge of PPAP process and GD&T.
