Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in die process engineering, stamping feasibility, die design support, and CAD/CAE‑driven manufacturing analysis.
Rate Range:$32/hour to $36/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Conduct early stamping process feasibility evaluations using integrated CAD/CAE tools.
- Perform simulations of stamping processes to assess formability, dimensional quality, and potential issues.
- Support die design teams with process insights and feasibility assessments.
- Develop CAD‑based draw developments and assist with die design, die construction, and tryout phases.
- Utilize stamping simulation software such as Dynaform, Auto Form, or ESI Pam Stamp to validate process outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to optimize stamping and machining processes.
- Interpret and analyze manufacturing data to resolve process issues and improve die performance.
- Provide hands‑on support for manufacturing engineering challenges in stamping operations.
- Contribute to process improvements and launch support for new manufacturing systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent education + experience).
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience in:
- Die process engineering
- CAD draw development
- Die design
- Die construction and/or tryout
- Experience with stamping and machining processes.
- Practical experience using CATIA V5 and/or Team Center (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Tool & Die Journeyman’s Card.
- 5+ years automotive manufacturing experience.
- Ability to support die tryout, diagnose stamping dimensional errors, and recommend corrections.
- Experience planning, implementing, and launching manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency with GD&T, part fixturing, holding datums, and tolerance stack‑ups.
- Highly motivated self‑starter with minimal supervision required.

Pay Details:$32.00 to $36.00 per hour
