Escalate significant issues promptly and 'date to green' plan to appropriate management. Required travel to Suppliers is key in this role with up to 80% of time spent on-site reviewing manufacturing processes / launch readiness / problem solving etc.
STA Site Engineer - We are looking for a degreed engineer to lead our supplier quality launch efforts. Work will ensure customer satisfaction and quality standards are met through hands-on mentoring and development of supplier partners. Ideal candidates for this position will have prior experience managing automotive suppliers. This position is related to Powertrain Installed Component Commodity disciplines.
Conduct onsite evaluation visits for Priority commodities as per GPDS supplier engagement process for new programs
* Robust reviews and disposition supplier PPAP's
* Drive capacity actions implementation with suppliers in line with the GCP study requirements
* Drive Supplier Process capacity issues resolution as needed - Production constraint risk mitigation supporting Ford Supply Operations Team and Supplier teams with robust "date to green" plan
* Drive robust Supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through PFMEA, SCCAF, CP, Reverse FMEA process evaluation walks, Manufacturing feasibility reviews and Health chart deployment as applicable
* Ensure STA manufacturing health chart compliance through tier-x and support development of new health charts as required
* Ensure Special Manufacturing Process compliance through tier-x with the support of STA Technical Specialists
* Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence with the assigned sites through Q1-MSA deployment, Q1 attainment / retention, Health chart deployment, Supplier training as required.
* Drive deployment of Quality performance requirements (Q1, QR, TGW, R/1000, CPU), initiatives and training to supply base in STA tools (e.g. Warranty Reduction, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, G8D-Global 8 Discipline methodology, PFMEA-Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, SPC-Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R-Repeatability and Reproducibility, etc.) as required
* Drive new supplier site evaluations and Supplier Risk Assessment on new sourcing in support of GCST, identifying Risk Mitigation.
* Drive closure of supplier process Quality issues related to Stop Ship /Stop Build, BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projects and Field Service Action / Stop Ship Prevent Recurrence Action
* Drive compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements, SIM / STA QOS process compliance.
