In this position...
Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance to advance and product engineering teams, manufacturing plants, suppliers, and incoming process engineers to help develop better-designed systems that improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency. The specialist also supports issue resolution, process improvements, and cross-functional communication to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Provide structure to support ATP/GME competitive strategy
- Work with advance and product engineering on engineering specifications (ES) for safety requirements and processes
- Align PTME/BME/VME safety training, standards and deliverables
- Support advanced manufacturing projects
- Support new processing methods to improve cost
- Provide technical assistance during launch of new programs (ex. ECPL to standards, Safe System of Work agreements)
- Provide technical assistance to plant safety engineers as required (ex., PROTAG audits, etc.)
- Update & maintain bill of process & methods documents for safety processes (ex. Safety bulletins, Commonize best practices
- Provide safety training courses for engineering communities (ex. ECPL for new employees, GENSAFE refreshers)
- Provide technical assistance during simultaneous engineering efforts for new programs (ex. Design for Safety)
You'll have...
- BSc, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial OR Electrical) required
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in launch related safety activities
- Masters (MBA) is preferred
- Technical certifications including TUV Functional Safety Engineer and/or ASP/CSP preferred
- Exceptional knowledge of safety process, equipment technology, statistical methods, and problem solving
- Technical knowledge of safety related parts of control systems
- Demonstrated leadership in executing and implementing advanced projects
- Demonstrated leadership in successful new product launch teams
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to travel to sites
