You will lead the industrialization of cutting-edge technologies and ensure that every member of the STA organization is equipped with the knowledge to enforce Ford's rigorous assembly standards.
Responsibilities
What you will do...

- Champion the "Quality Comes First" Mindset: Lead the global assembly strategy by instilling a culture of technical excellence and rigorous quality standards within both the supply base and our internal teams.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Serve as the Global Lead for Assembly manufacturing, deploying process standards, lessons learned, and technical innovations to ensure supplier readiness.
- Prevent Recurrence: Lead deep-dive technical investigations into significant quality issues (Field Actions, Stop Ships, Warranty) and implement robust, permanent corrective actions.
- Innovate & Industrialize: Utilize the GTDS process to lead Manufacturing Risk Assessments and support the seamless integration of new technologies into the assembly domain.
- Strategic Auditing & Calibration: Execute high-impact manufacturing process assessments and "calibrate" the broader STA team on how to conduct rigorous, data-driven assembly audits.
- Design for Manufacturability: Partner with Product Development to provide critical feasibility input, ensuring that our designs are optimized for high-quality assembly.
- Global Influence: Travel throughout the region and globally (50-75%) to provide on-site technical leadership, supplier support, and hands-on team training.
You'll have...
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor of Science/Engineering (or academic equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
- Technical Mastery: Extensive experience in Assembly Processes and Controls, with deep expertise in:
- Fastening Systems (DC tools, torque strategy, and control limits)
- Material Dispense (Adhesives, sealants, and flow monitoring)
- Press Fit Systems and Force-Distance Monitoring
- Testing (Leak testing and End-of-Line/EOL)
- Vision Systems and Error Proofing/Poka-Yoke controls
- Problem-Solving DNA: Advanced proficiency in Quality Tools and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
- Communication & Mentorship: Proficiency in English with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable training for global teams.
- Agility: A self-motivated work ethic and the ability to travel 50-75% of the time to drive results on the shop floor.
- Instructional Experience: Experience in developing technical curriculum or coaching engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Industry Experience: Approximately 8+ years in manufacturing processes with a heavy emphasis on complex assembly.
- Ford Knowledge: Familiarity with Ford vehicle/powertrain development and launch processes (GPDS/Phased PPAP).
- Leadership Presence: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to senior management.
- Advanced Certification: Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent Lean Manufacturing certification.
