Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

Breadboard Simulation & Automation Technical Expert - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Establish standardized testing procedures across all labs (including MEC, Dunton, VISE, GTBC, IMG markets, and Palo Alto) to ensure that results are comparable and can be confidently utilized in decision-making processes.

Leverage advancements in technology, such as automation and data analytics, to enhance testing capabilities and streamline processes. Prioritize the implementation of rigorous safety protocols for handling low and high voltage systems. Develop strategies to address warranty costs and vehicle program development time associated with software defined vehicles. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by promoting collaboration among teams across different labs to share best practices, lessons learned, and insights gained from testing.

Monitor regulatory changes and ensure that all testing activities comply with global standards and regulations related to vehicle safety and performance. Design test processes that can be scaled up or down, based on test environment and project demands, to accommodate various electrical system architectures, feature technologies and program complexities. Implement a structured feedback loop that allows for the continual assessment and refinement of resting methodologies based on real-world outcomes, market trends, technological advancements, and testing escape points.

Qualifications

You'll have...

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 5 years of experience with the following skill is required:
1. Leading integration and simulation of electrical breadboard ("Lab Car") testing. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
1. Data collection, simulation, test automation and communication systems.
2. Vehicle simulation and automation tools including dSPACE tools (Control Desk, Configuration Desk, Motion Desk, and ASM). 3. MiL, SiL, or HiL methodologies.
4. Network communication skills (CAN Tool, LIN, Ethernet, and AutoSAR). 5. CAPL Scripting and ECU Test.
