Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and release automotive systems, subsystems, and components for FSS/Build-To-Print suppliers for assigned programs.
- Monitor the development of interior systems for Ford vehicles according to company‑specific benchmarks.
- Design parts to comply with corporate and local requirements for parts validation, considering worldwide customer requirements, engineering specifications, systems design specifications, and manufacturing and assembly requirements.
- Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets.
- Monitor suppliers and analyze customer feedback through Ford systems.
- Ensure parts incorporation at the assembly plant.
- Support suppliers and assembly departments with current production quality and manufacturing issues.
- Identify design improvements to increase quality and optimize cost and weight.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in automotive cockpit and trim applications.
- At least 3 years of experience in launch activities, root‑cause analysis for design/manufacturing issues, and rapid implementation of corrective actions.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using CAD.
- Experience with design tools such as CATIA, Teamcenter, Digital Buck, GD&T, RSS studies, and DFMEA.
- Proficiency in analytical tools including CAE and Moldflow.
- Experience with complex systems, injection molding, and secondary tooling.
- Ability to compile data into decision matrices and report summaries for presentation to program and interior management teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a team‑oriented approach.
- Self‑driven, highly motivated, and eager to embrace new challenges.
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Experience designing and developing interior instrument panel systems, console systems, or related components.

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $63,480 to salary grade 8 $ 162,120.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
