Software Engineer, Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced HIL Development Engineer to join our HIL simulation team. In this role, you will proactively collaborate with controls, systems, and simulation engineers to understand our HIL testing requirements and develop our future HIL simulation platforms. This is a hands-on position that requires experience with all aspects of HIL development, implementation, and automation. You will be an integral part of a team that is delivering solutions to increase the simulation capability and testing efficiency for Ford's research and advanced control development projects.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering is required.
3+ years’ experience developing hardware in the loop systems for testing embedded control systems is required
3+ years’ experience developing or testing automotive electronic control systems is required
Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation of plant and control systems is required
Demonstrated effective communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills in a team environment is required
Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple tasks and timelines is required
Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
Experience delivering innovative solutions in a research-based environment is highly desired.
Experience leading technical projects including workplan creation, progress tracking, and status reporting is highly desired.
Hands-on experience with dSpace hardware-in-the-loop systems and Control Desk / Configuration Desk software is highly desired.
Experience with the creation of automated HIL tools and methods utilizing dSPACE APIs is highly desired.
Experience with the creation and execution of test plans, test scripts, and test automation and the generation of test reports is highly desired.
Experience with CAN/LIN/Ethernet tools and testing is highly desired
Experience with version control and process automation tools (Git Hub, Jenkins…) is desired
Experience with high-level programming language (C, C++, Python, Matlab m-script) is desired
Experience with Electrified or Connected vehicle development or testing is desired.
Experience using other modeling and simulation software tools such as Amesim, Car Sim, or Car Maker is a plus.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
