Leidos is seeking multiple RCx Energy Advisors/Engineers to market and support an RCx energy‑efficiency program for industrial and commercial facilities near Detroit, Michigan. These positions offer dynamic professionals with technical, communication, and organizational skills, who possess strong knowledge of retro‑commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and process systems, and can build relationships with customers, vendors, and professional organizations.
LocationThe ideal candidate will be located in Michigan and will support large industrial and commercial facilities throughout the Detroit Metropolitan region.
Responsibilities- Identify RCx efficiency opportunities, calculate energy savings, maintain strong customer relationships, and deliver presentations
- Conduct site surveys and facilities assessments
- Work on‑site with facility managers, engineers, and energy staff to encourage energy efficiency practices
- Perform HVAC system assessments to identify energy savings opportunities
- Conduct energy analyses based on trending, bin weather data, and regression analysis
- Review Building Automation Systems, assess opportunities, and conduct verification work
- Understand all types of building systems, including HVAC, pumps, chilled water, hot water, steam, and compressed air
- Evaluate energy‑consuming systems and consult on utility energy‑efficiency programs
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations
- Operate a valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to perform field verification of pre‑ and post‑installation of energy‑efficiency measures
- Junior Level
:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with two plus (2+) years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Mid‑Level
:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with four plus (4+) years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Senior Level
:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated productivity and accuracy in performance of work
- Ability to perform ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities
- Knowledge of different types of Building Automation Systems
