ADAS Hardware Systems Integration Engineer

This position is for an ADAS Hardware Systems Integration Engineer and focuses on ensuring the feature delivers the expectations of the customer. You will develop and implement the next generation data acquisition systems for our next generation of architectures and vehicles. As such, you will collaborate with a cross functional team specializing in hardware and software development as well as interact with feature owners and validation engineers to ensure the project(s) are delivered on‑time, with quality and within budget.

Our diverse Vehicle and Architecture Engineering Organization is a global team of approx. 4500 employees situated in 12 worldwide locations including Detroit, Palo Alto, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Our team develops and tests vehicle architectures and advanced features and has testing operations around the world and manages a capital expenditure budget of over $1B. As a team player, you will create impact by collaborating with key work partners throughout the Ford Motor Company – research, product, marketing, engineering, test and technology teams.

• Lead / support vehicle instrumentation testing and troubleshooting
• Lead / support revisions to vehicle instrumentation design
• Troubleshoot vehicle instrumentation issues as they pertain to hardware and software
• Complete vehicle module software and configuration updates
• Identify root‑cause & resolve vehicle issues to enable ADAS features / functions
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) and configuration issues
• Understand and verify vehicle specifications for feature / system validation
• Understand ADAS test methods and required feature / system behaviors
• Support ADAS feature / system validation testing and development, including both vehicle and virtual methods (e.g., VIL and HIL) when applicable
• Deliver efficiency improvements in test operations activities via process development, team training, and tools creation
• Develop MATLAB, CAN, Python, etc. tools for data collection and analysis
• Support and coordinate root‑cause analysis with internal functions and external suppliers to ensure that features / systems achieve expected performance
• Support additional tasks related to business operations

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
• 3+ years of experience in developing features or systems in the ADAS domain using radars, cameras, or ultrasonic sensors with other related vehicle systems (body, electrical, chassis, powertrain)
• Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
• Experience with instrumentation equipment at the design and development stage as well as application
• Experience using typical automotive interfaces: CAN, CANFD, Autosar, Auto‑Ethernet, etc.
• Experience using Vector CANape, CANalyzer and dSPACE Controls Desk or similar tools
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink
• Experience with virtual validation methods (VIL/HIL/MIL)
• Good communications and project management skills
• Strong oral & written skills
• Ability to work both independently and take initiative when necessary
• Strong teamwork & interpersonal skills

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
• Familiarity with actuators and control systems
• Experience applying Systems Engineering principles
• Experience with robotic verification and testing methods
• Experience with differential GPS equipment
• Experience in verification techniques (design verification methods, vehicle data acquisition/analysis)
• Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer satisfaction
