Position: Electrical Design Engineer in Macomb County

Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Reporting to:
Electric Design Manager

We are a specialized engineering firm based in Warren, Michigan focused on delivering Automated Engineering Solutions.

We are looking for an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer with a minimum 3 years of experience in the automation field. The candidate will work with our Electrical, Controls, and Mechanical departments to develop electrical and pneumatic design prints as well as maintain electrical standards and documentation for the lifecycle of the project.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and will cover the transition between Electrical Design and Electrical Installation and is skilled at organizing detailed information. The highly knowledgeable individual will be a solid technical reference to the Controls and Electrical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Design:
    Manage Electrical design team for assigned projects to produce Electrical packages for customer projects.
  • Customer Interfacing:
    Be the Electrical representative in customer project meetings and address project requirements and requests. Present preliminary and final designs and perform customer reviews.
  • Quality Reviews:
    Maintain the companies quality standards as well as industry best-practices for all Electrical and Pneumatic designs and ensure those designs follow applicable safety standards.
  • Supervise Redline Changes:
    Work with Electrical Manufacturing to identify needed changes and authorize markups for projects in the assembly phase.
  • Inspect Electrical systems:
    Inspect wiring and electrical assemblies for compliance with prints and safety standards.
  • Documentation:
    Ensure all required customer electrical documentation is completed and submitted for.

Education/Skills/Required Experience
  • B.S. degree in an Electrical related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Electrical or Controls related work, automotive integration experience .
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proficient in the design of low voltage electrical controls systems with pneumatic components.

Compensation package
