Advanced Emissions Systems Engineer – ICE / HEV / PHEV

Location: Hybrid – 4 Days/Week Onsite

Pay Rate: $42.31/hour

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Emissions Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and validation of next‑generation emissions systems for gasoline ICE, Hybrid (HEV), and Plug‑in Hybrid (PHEV) vehicles. This role focuses on developing advanced hardware and control strategies to meet evolving emissions regulations including SULEV
20, SULEV
15, and SULEV
10 standards.

Key responsibilities include leading emissions system design and integration activities, supporting aftertreatment and catalyst strategies, conducting vehicle and powertrain testing, and collaborating across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls engineering teams. The engineer will also support systems engineering activities including DFMEA, P‑Diagrams, Boundary Diagrams, requirements management, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in propulsion systems, emissions compliance, hybrid powertrain integration, and data analysis within an automotive engineering environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years of propulsion, emissions, or powertrain engineering experience
  • Experience with ICE, HEV, or PHEV systems and emissions controls
  • Strong understanding of emissions regulations, catalyst chemistry, and aftertreatment systems
  • Experience with systems engineering tools including DFMEA and requirements management
  • Strong analytical, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with MATLAB, GT‑Suite, Python, or data modeling tools preferred
  • Automotive OEM experience preferred
