Vehicle Diagnostics Control Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Vehicle Diagnostics Control Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate with experience implementing and optimizing in-station process control, vehicle diagnostics, and testing systems to support automotive manufacturing and product launch activities.
Rate Range: $42/hour to $45/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Vehicle Diagnostics Control Engineer Job
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the implementation and execution of In-Station Process Control and Testing systems across vehicle program development and launch milestones.
- Develop and deploy vehicle diagnostics and test strategies to ensure manufacturing quality, process compliance, and product reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to support process control systems, plant infrastructure, and diagnostic solutions.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of production issues, and implement corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance.
- Support end-of-line testing, PLC/control systems, factory information systems, and plant communication technologies to enable efficient production operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying PFMEA, Failure Mode Avoidance principles, and data-driven diagnostics to enhance process capability and vehicle quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, product development, vehicle diagnostics, testing, or process control systems.
- Strong experience in vehicle diagnostics, end-of-line testing, electrical systems (EDS), powertrain/chassis systems, and manufacturing process control.
- Knowledge of PLC/control systems, Factory Information Systems (FIS), PFMEA, Failure Mode Avoidance principles, and automotive plant infrastructure technologies.
