THIS IS A PART-TIME LAW ENFORCEMENT POSITION WITH THE CITY OF DEARBORN

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

STARTING SALARY

$25.44 Per Hour
* Compensation based on experience

MAXIMUM HOURS PER WEEK

28 hrs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation as determined by a post-job-offer physical examination.
  • Must meet all employment standards for Michigan Law Enforcement Officers as established by MCOLES including:
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Good moral character and no record of criminal convictions (including expungements).
  • U. S. Citizenship.
  • Minimum age, 18 years.
  • Must be able to pass a post-job-offer physical examination.
  • No Felony Convictions
  • Current Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification as a Police Officer. Information on MCOLES can be found at: email MSP-MCOLES or by calling . Apply directly with testing centers.
  • Must be willing to maintain residency within proximity to Dearborn Police Headquarters no greater than that which would allow an officer to respond in a timely manner for duty during an emergency.

  • Written notification from MCOLES of Physical Agility and Written Test scores – or – MCOLES # if currently certified.
  • DD214 (If applicable).
  • Qualifications

    EXAMINATION PROCESS

    The results at each step in the application process will determine eligibility for continuation to subsequent steps. The process will include application review, personal history questionnaire, oral-board interview, psychological evaluation, background investigation, and chief’s interview.

    All candidates may be required to successfully complete an abbreviated Field Training Program.
