Overview
A growing, 144-bed behavioral health facility – Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs for adolescents, adults and older adults, and performs behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility also offers a robust outpatient program that utilizes group, family and individual therapy.
PositionSummary
The Outpatient Social Worker performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio‑psychosocial needs while enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve optimal emotional health. Duties include basic consultation, teaching, providing specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short‑term and long‑term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
ResponsibilitiesProvide outpatient social work services Monday through Friday on a per diem/contingent basis, assisting on busy days and covering for other staff as needed.
QualificationsEducation: MSW or MA in Counseling
License: LMSW or LLMSW; LPC or LLPC
Experience: Requires at least 1‑3 years’ experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills are required. Combination of education, licensure, experience and/or student internship hours may be considered.
