Job Description:
To develop Unix tools/programs by using Github, Chef Habitat packages with Unix shell scripts to manage user accounts, sudo access, file system management, application installation and so on. Candidate will work in a team with 10+ senior Unix admins to support large number of Suse and Redhat servers with 24x7 on-call rotation. Day-to-day operations will include troubleshooting, shadow sessions, script development, application package development and process documentation.
Candidate might be asked to work on request/ incident/problem tickets in order to resolve application and/or hardware related issues.
• Troubleshoot issues and support 24x7 operations for Suse and Red Hat servers in a large enterprise environment.
• Develop Unix tools/programs, script development, and application package development.
• Perform shadow sessions and produce process documentation.
• Work on request, incident, and problem tickets to resolve application and/or hardware related issues.
• Collaborate with a team of 10+ senior Unix admins to maintain and improve on-call processes.
- 5+ years Suse and/or Red Hat at a Senior Systems Admin level
- 5+ years scripting and GUI experience with multiple languages:
Bash, Power Shell, Ruby, Python, TCL, Java script, Perl, PHP, and markup languages and data interchange specifications: HTML5, JSON, XML, and Web services to manipulate Web resources with focus on REST API - Must be able to demonstrate an Automation mindset and provide working examples where you have been a primary designer, contributor, developer
- Hands-on experience with Dev Ops Toolsets
- Jenkins, Chef, Habitat, Github, JIRA, Slack, Rally, Confluence, etc
- Suse Certification
- Red Hat Certification
- Experience with Container(s)
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud Services as a developer or consumer (Azure, AWS, etc)
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and DNS technology and operation
- 5+ years of Operations experience at a large enterprise including ITIL processes
- Must have organization skills
- Able to work with multiple teams in a global environment
- Must be highly motivated and able to work on multiple initiatives
- Must be able to develop processes and strategies for new technology with minimal supervision
- Able to Lead, collaborate, innovate and move into next generation self-service support model
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification
