Devops Engineer

Description
This individual will be responsible for the design, ownership, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade Dev Ops platforms on Google Cloud Platform. This individual will lead cloud-native CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and containerized deployment strategies supporting multiple teams and environments. This person will have mainly ECU development as this teams deals with all in vehicle cloud software- building and releasing all ECU codes for the vehicles.

They aren't looking for embedded engineers; they need Dev Ops Engineers that have supported embedded developers with their builds and releases.
Position Description:
The Engineer is responsible for the design, ownership, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade Dev Ops platforms on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The engineer will lead cloud-native CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and containerized deployment strategies supporting multiple teams and environments.
Key Responsibilities Own and evolve Dev Ops platforms across the full software lifecycle, from source control through production deployment Design, operate, and troubleshoot production-grade Cloud Run services, including load balancing, IAM, security controls, and artifact management Architect, deploy, and maintain high-availability Jenkins controllers, including version upgrades, plugin governance, and secure pipeline execution Design and manage dynamic Jenkins build nodes on Google Cloud Platform, optimizing cost, performance, and scalability Author, maintain, and debug reusable Terraform modules supporting standardized infrastructure deployment Lead container build, versioning, and promotion strategies using Artifact Registry Improve deployment reliability, release velocity, and security posture through automation and Dev Sec Ops  practices Diagnose and remediate complex CI/CD, infrastructure, and cloud-runtime failures in production environments Act as a Dev Ops subject-matter expert, influencing standards, tooling decisions, and best practices across teams
Skills Required:
Required Technical Expertise (Must-Have) Google Cloud Platform - Advanced Google Compute Engine: VM provisioning, debugging, image creation with Packer Google Cloud Platform Load Balancing: configure, troubleshoot, and optimize traffic routing Artifact Registry: manage container images and lifecycle controls CI/CD & Automation Jenkins: o Deploy and maintain Jenkins controllers o Perform version upgrades and plugin lifecycle management o Implement secure, scalable pipelines o Provision and manage dynamic build agents on Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure as Code Terraform: o Write and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code o Debug state, provider, and deployment issues o Integrate Terraform into CI/CD workflows Containers Build, secure, version, and deploy container images Promote artifacts across environments using automated pipelines
Skills Preferred:
Preferred / Additional Expertise Cloud Run: design, deploy, secure, debug, and scale production services Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): namespace management, Helm-based deployments Google Cloud Platform Networking: advanced debugging of proxies, load balancers, NEGs, and connectivity issues Dev Sec Ops , IAM hardening, and compliance-driven CI/CD
Experience Required:
Experience Requirements 7+ years of professional Dev Ops or platform engineering experience Demonstrated ownership of CI/CD platforms and cloud infrastructure in production environments Experience leading or standardizing Dev Ops practices across teams

GIT experience

Experience with Jenkins (design and manage Jenkins build nodes on Google Cloud Platform) and Git Hub actions

Experience with compute engine and using terraform (author, maintain, and debug reusable Terraform modules) and Docker to build and release Google Cloud Platform images

This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $73.00 - $73.00/hr.
