This role combines learning and development expertise with modern technology to drive the digital transformation of a training function. The Training Specialist / Learning & Development Technology Specialist designs, develops, and maintains advanced learning ecosystems, automates departmental workflows, and pioneers AI-driven educational solutions. Partnering closely with product development and engineering teams, this position supports key competency training and learning solutions that empower a technical workforce.
The ideal candidate applies adult learning principles, strong project management, and solid programming and data skills to create impactful, scalable learning experiences while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated learning ecosystems that support technical and engineering-focused training programs.
- Apply adult learning principles to create engaging, effective, and scalable training solutions for a technical workforce.
- Drive the digital transformation of the learning and development function by introducing and managing modern learning technologies and platforms.
- Support key engineering strategic initiatives by aligning training programs with product development and functional team needs.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver competency-based training programs that build critical skills across technical teams.
- Automate departmental workflows and learning processes using tools such as Power Automate and related platforms.
- Pioneer and implement AI-driven educational solutions, including integrations using Python and relevant AI frameworks.
- Administer and support learning management systems (LMS), ensuring compliance with SCORM and related API protocols.
- Manage and maintain learning content, data, and knowledge repositories using SharePoint Online and other collaboration tools.
- Coordinate and support training events, workshops, and learning initiatives, including logistics and event planning.
- Create and deliver clear, engaging presentations and training sessions tailored to different audiences and stakeholder groups.
- Develop, communicate, and track project plans, timelines, and status updates using appropriate project management tools.
- Analyze learning data and metrics using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Big Query to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather requirements, define learning strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Provide customer support for learners and stakeholders, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a positive learning experience.
- Use strong analytical and critical thinking skills to move projects from ambiguity to clear execution and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain and enhance knowledge management practices, ensuring that learning resources and documentation are organized, accessible, and up to date.
- Leverage Git and Git Hub or similar tools to manage code, version control, and collaboration for learning-related applications and automations.
- Continuously explore new technologies, tools, and methods to improve training delivery, learning strategy, and digital learning solutions.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking feedback, learning new skills, and applying new perspectives to improve training programs and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Computer Science, or a related technical field with proven experience in training and project management.
- At least 2 years of work experience in training, project management, computer science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to develop, communicate, and track project plans and status using appropriate tools.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and One Note.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, including data management and collaboration site usage.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move projects from ambiguity to execution.
- Demonstrated presentation skills with excellent oral and written communication, including the ability to adjust messaging for different audiences.
- Proven ability to coordinate training programs, including training coordination, project support, and event planning.
- Experience in training and development, including designing, delivering, or supporting learning programs.
- Strong customer support orientation, with the ability to assist learners and stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated growth mindset and passion for continuous learning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and general desktop productivity tools.
