Prognostics Research Engineer
Location:
Dearborn, MI
Pay Rate: $42.31/hour
Schedule:
Hybrid position, 4 days per week in the office

Join an innovative team developing next-generation vehicle diagnostics and prognostic technologies that help predict component health, improve reliability, and create smarter connected vehicle experiences.
Education Requirements- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field required
- PhD preferred
- 4+ years of experience applying statistical analysis, machine learning, or predictive modeling techniques
- 3+ years of experience with Python, SQL, and cloud-based analytics platforms
- Experience with C++, MATLAB, Simulink, DSP, sensor processing, embedded controls, and diagnostics systems
- Knowledge of machine learning, causal inference, PCA, ANOVA, clustering, neural networks, and time-series analytics preferred
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Develop and deploy predictive maintenance and prognostic models
- Design Remaining Useful Life (RUL) and fault detection algorithms
- Build machine learning and physics-based hybrid models
- Analyze large-scale telemetry and sensor data using Python, SQL, and cloud tools
- Support signal processing and multi-sensor diagnostic systems
- Translate algorithms into optimized C++ code for embedded systems
- Validate solutions through simulation, testing, and production implementation
- Collaborate with engineering and subject matter experts across multiple disciplines
- Ability to work in an office and engineering environment
