The North America Ocean Import & Export Supervisor Position presents an exciting opportunity to take on a critical leadership role in an ever‑changing supply chain. Put your MP&L and Supply Chain knowledge to use as you lead a team to design and implement the most cost‑effective import / export logistics network. This network includes operational responsibility for Import and Export warehouse facilities.
The team is responsible for ensuring a consistent flow of material to the plants in NA around the world while optimizing freight and inventory cost.
You will lead and optimize end‑to‑end Ocean Import and Export Operations to ensure a highly efficient, cost‑effective global supply chain. On the import side, you will manage the Ocean Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) and Ocean Liners to optimize network design, oversee import deconsolidation operations at six or more North American warehouse facilities, and manage ocean transit float to minimize accessorial, inventory, warehouse, and premium freight costs.
You will also lead the annual ocean carrier bidding process to ensure it is awarded on time and under budget, while driving year‑over‑year freight and inventory reduction targets and improving inbound/outbound container utilization. For export operations, you will partner with 3PL providers to ensure the safe packaging and shipping of powertrains to more than 20 global customers, secure the necessary weekly capacity to support demand, and implement lean management principles to guarantee damage‑free, on‑time material shipments.
Throughout these operations, you will maintain robust inventory control processes and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to ensure performance consistently exceeds global standards.
- Achieve YOY Freight Efficiency budget.

- Limit production disruptions.
- Manage 3PL provider performance through KPIs.
- Work with Ocean Carriers to improve performance.
- Perform Kaizen activities at ports, warehouses, etc. to break constraints.
- Engineering or Business degree.
- Strong leadership behaviors, with a systemic process‑oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
- Strong MRP experience (CMMS3 or SAP).
- Experience with data analytical tools.
- Strong understanding of global logistics.
- Understanding of global ocean carriers.
- Understanding of customs laws and processes.
- MBA (preferred).
- Strong supply chain, supplier performance and/or plant experience preferred.
Leadership level 6 salary range: $112,680 - $212,760.
