The Ford Supply Chain team adds critical value to the entire organization. You'll help us build strong mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, source the highest quality parts from around the globe and progress towards our sustainability goals, while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You'll be the lead of establishing a robust exterior glass supply base so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want and value and will be a major contributor to Ford's overall success.

We are seeking a Supply Chain Commodity Buyer to lead for Ford's North American Exterior Glass commodity into the future. The evolution of both combustion and electric vehicles (EV) is driving the need for new/additional glass technologies. Looking for a self-starter to take on the role as an expert in exterior glass, helping Ford source technologies to the customer needs of the combustion/EV market while maintaining strong relationships with the current supply base and ensure that parts sourced from around the globe are of the highest quality, optimal cost and delivered on-time.

We are seeking a Supply Chain Commodity Buyer to lead for Ford's North American Exterior Glass commodity into the future. The evolution of both combustion and electric vehicles (EV) is driving the need for new/additional glass technologies. Looking for a self-starter to take on the role as an expert in exterior glass, helping Ford source technologies to the customer needs of the combustion/EV market while maintaining strong relationships with the current supply base and ensure that parts sourced from around the globe are of the highest quality, optimal cost and delivered on-time.

What you'll do...

* Know the exterior glass commodity parts and understand cost drivers to deliver cost targets

* Develop, maintain, and execute the glass Commodity Business Plan (CBP) strategy

* Foster professional and healthy supplier partnerships

* Lead, plan, develop, and implement supplier commercial negotiations

* Work effectively with cross-functional teams regionally and/or globally

* Quote, negotiate and source suppliers for the purchase price of production parts, and tooling

* Complete sourcing activities and recommend suppliers for new program lamps

* Establish and implement sourcing strategy for exterior glass (i.e., windshields, backlites, roof glass, etc.)

* Assist in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply

* Support GCT Buyers in both Service and Production and cross-functional partners to develop strategies and implement solutions

* Identify and implement cost reductions

* Negotiate cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases.
